WHY ABRUZZO
A living territory made of places, people, and know-how
Abruzzo is sea and mountains close together, inland villages, coast, wineries, olive mills, workshops, home kitchens, and family businesses.
For people with roots, a village can become a real place again. For those seeking authentic Italy, the territory shows where products, gestures, and relationships are born.
THE FIRST STORY
Schiavi di Abruzzo, Paraguay, and a story that speaks to many
From Schiavi di Abruzzo to Paraguay runs a thread made of departures, family names, photographs, recipes, and villages remembered from afar.
For those who live far away, a village like Schiavi can become a gateway: not only an origin to look for, but a place to recognize, listen to, and reconnect with the present.
In the Stories section, a first digital narrative exhibition gathers images and testimonies dedicated to migratory memory between Schiavi di Abruzzo and Paraguay.
THREE ACCESS POINTS
Three ways to read Abruzzo
Villages and landscapes
Villages, mountains, hills, and coast tell of a region that is close, but should be crossed with time.
Hands and know-how
Products, workshops, family businesses, and studios show where authenticity takes shape.
Families and communities
Photographs, recipes, and family stories keep the bridge between Abruzzo and the world open.
VILLAGES AND LANDSCAPE
An Abruzzo to cross slowly
Mountains and sea, inland villages and coast, scenic roads and small towns are closer than they seem. But Abruzzo works best when you do not rush through it.
For people living far away, these places can give shape to family memory. For those discovering Abruzzo for the first time, they show a less obvious Italy made of landscapes, villages, and people.
KNOW-HOW, GESTURES, AND PRODUCTION
The territory takes shape in what people know how to do
Wine, olive oil, craft beer, liqueurs, ceramics, cuisine, and family businesses tell Abruzzo through concrete gestures, aromas, materials, and working times.
Here authenticity is recognized in the places where things are born: people, supply chains, material memory, and products that do not remain just labels.
Flavors of the territory
Wine, olive oil, beer, liqueurs, and herbs speak of land, table, and conviviality.
Hands and matter
Ceramics, objects, colors, and techniques show a tradition that is still alive.
Places to encounter
Wineries, olive mills, workshops, and studios can become spaces of encounter.
ROOTS AND COMMUNITY
An Abruzzo that continues to live even outside Abruzzo
Abruzzese communities around the world preserve village names, recipes, photographs, stories, and wishes to return. They are not only memories: they can become new relationships with the territory.
A photograph, a recipe, or a family story can reopen a conversation and bring different generations closer.
CONNECTED ECOSYSTEM
From the story of the territory to the continuity of the journey
From here, the journey can continue toward territorial content, visitable experiences, and stories gathered from the community.
THE FIRST CONCRETE CASE
From Schiavi di Abruzzo to a more open story
The first case connects Schiavi di Abruzzo and the Abruzzese community in Paraguay. It does not close the story inside one local story: it shows how memory, places, and know-how can become new relationships with the territory.
