2. Purpose of the Website
Abruzzo Connections is a digital space connected to the project “Radici che Uniscono: gemellaggio tra Schiavi di Abruzzo e la comunità abruzzese in Paraguay.” The website has informational, cultural and narrative purposes related to the enhancement of Abruzzo roots, migration memory, the territory, experiences and Abruzzo know-how.
3. Data Processed
The website may process the following categories of personal data:
- technical browsing data necessary for the operation of the website, such as IP address, browser information, device used, date and time of access and technical logs;
- data voluntarily provided by the user through contact forms or email, such as first name, last name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, subject of the request and message content;
- any texts, images, stories, testimonials or materials voluntarily shared by the user within the framework of the project;
- data relating to organizations, companies, institutions or local entities that may be reported or involved in the project.
Only with analytics consent, Google Analytics 4 processes pseudonymous identifiers, pages viewed, language, device and browser information, approximate location, engagement time, clicks on primary calls to action, and a successful contact-form submission signal. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, subjects, and message contents are not sent to Analytics. Page URLs sent by the website exclude query strings and fragments.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
Personal data may be processed for the following purposes:
- to ensure the proper technical operation and security of the website, based on the legitimate interest of the data controller;
- to respond to requests sent by the user through forms or email, based on the user’s request and legitimate interest;
- to evaluate, organize and, where appropriate, publish stories, testimonials, images or materials voluntarily submitted, based on the user’s consent when necessary;
- to document, communicate and report on activities connected to the project, based on legitimate interest, project obligations or consent when required;
- to comply with any legal, administrative or institutional obligations.
Analytics helps us understand how content is used and improve the website’s navigation paths. The legal basis is consent, which is optional and may be withdrawn at any time. Refusing does not restrict browsing or submitting a request.
5. Provision of Data
Providing data through forms, email or the voluntary submission of materials is optional. However, failure to provide the necessary data may prevent the controller from responding to the request or evaluating the submitted contribution.
Users who submit images, stories or materials relating to third parties declare that they are entitled to share them and, where necessary, that they have obtained the relevant authorizations.
6. Processing Methods and Security
Data is processed using IT tools and, where necessary, also through manual procedures. The controller adopts reasonable measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure or misuse.
Access to the data is limited to subjects who need it for operational, technical, administrative, editorial or project-related purposes.
7. Data Recipients
Data may be processed or communicated, within the limits of what is necessary, to website technical providers, hosting providers, web agencies, developers, subjects supporting digital and editorial activities, project partners, public or institutional bodies involved in the activities, consultants and authorized subjects.
These subjects process data only for purposes connected to the website and the project.
Associazione degli Abruzzesi in Paraguay remains the data controller for these analytics. NeverEndingTourism LTD provides technical administration of the dedicated Analytics property as part of its website support activities. Google supplies the measurement service and processes the relevant data under its data processing terms. Technical placement within the NeverEndingTourism LTD account does not change the controller identified in section 1.
8. International Transfers
Since the data controller is based in Paraguay and the project may involve subjects located in Italy, the European Union and Paraguay, some personal data may be processed or made accessible outside the European Economic Area.
In such cases, the controller undertakes to adopt proportionate measures to limit access and protect personal data.
Google Analytics may involve processing and transferring data outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Google describes its safeguards and transfer mechanisms in its data processing documentation. Contact the controller for information about the safeguards applicable to this website’s processing.
9. Data Retention
Data is retained for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected.
Requests sent through forms or email are retained for the time necessary to manage the request and, as a general rule, for no longer than 24 months, unless documentation or legal needs require otherwise.
Data connected to project documentation may be retained for the time necessary to manage, report on and protect the activities.
Published content, such as stories or testimonials, may remain online until a removal request is made, except where there are legitimate needs to document activities already carried out.
Google Analytics user-level and event-level data retention is set to 2 months, without resetting the period after each new activity. Aggregated statistical reports may remain available longer. Analytics cookies have a configured maximum lifetime of 6 months. The consent preference is stored for 183 days unless the user deletes or changes it.
10. Data Subject Rights
Within the limits provided by applicable law, users may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, data portability where applicable and withdrawal of any consent given.

Users may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, without prejudice to any other right or remedy provided by law.
11. Minors
The website is not intended to collect personal data from minors without the involvement of a parent or person exercising parental responsibility.
Any images, testimonials or materials concerning minors may be used only with appropriate authorization from the entitled subjects.
12. Cookie Policy
The website uses technical cookies for operation, security, and language selection. The pll_language cookie stores the language for one year. The technical cookie ac_cookie_choice records the analytics choice, policy version, and choice date for 183 days. These cookies do not require analytics consent.
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you select “Accept analytics.” The _ga and _ga_6LLNCP2W68 cookies distinguish visits and sessions using pseudonymous identifiers and have a configured maximum lifetime of 6 months. Collection remains disabled before consent and after refusal; the website does not send cookieless Analytics measurements without consent either.
Google Signals, advertising personalization, remarketing, and collection of information entered in forms are not enabled. Analytics data is not completely anonymous: it uses pseudonymous identifiers. Google states that Analytics does not log or store IP addresses; see its data protection documentation for details.
Choose “Reject analytics” or close the initial banner to continue with technical cookies only. Scrolling is not consent. “Cookie preferences” is always available on the website and lets you change your choice or withdraw consent just as easily. Withdrawal stops subsequent measurements and removes Analytics cookies accessible to the website; the page reloads. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
