WHERE IT BEGINS
When an origin becomes a place, a voice, a relationship again
Roots That Connect begins with a precise bond: Schiavi di Abruzzo and the Abruzzese community in Paraguay.
For those who live far away, Abruzzo can remain in a photograph, a last name, a recipe, or a question asked to grandparents. Abruzzo Connections gathers these threads and connects them to places, stories, communities, and living know-how.
WHAT TAKES SHAPE
A memory that becomes a living space
When a family story finds a place where it can be seen, read, and shared, it can become a journey, an encounter, a community, and renewed attention to the territory.
Digital photo exhibition
Images, places, and testimonies that give a face to the memory between Schiavi di Abruzzo and Paraguay.
Cultural twinning
A bridge between communities, greetings, images, stories, and mutual recognition.
New generations
Questions and micro-stories that bring young people closer to today’s Abruzzo.
Recipes, words, and traditions
Cuisine, dialect, music, and celebrations as small bridges of shared memory.
Abruzzo know-how
Products, workshops, and family businesses connect authenticity, places, and real supply chains.
Journeys, encounters, and returns
A visit, a home to rediscover, or a collaboration can arise from a memory set in motion again.
THE FIRST BRIDGE
Schiavi and Paraguay: the first concrete bridge
The first path begins with a concrete community. For many families, Schiavi di Abruzzo is a village told from afar: a street, a last name, a celebration, a photograph, an origin finally to be seen up close.
Paraguay is the first international bridge. From here, the story can open to other Abruzzese communities around the world, showing how memory, places, and local know-how can generate relationships again.
WHY IT CAN GROW
A roots story can create value for the territory
When a community around the world recognizes a place, even a product, a supply chain, or a local business stops being a generic image: it regains an address, a story, and recognizable people.
Recognizable authenticity
Places, people, and supply chains help distinguish real Made in Italy from generic images of Italy.
More visible local supply chains
Wine, olive oil, craftsmanship, cuisine, and family businesses can be told within the territory they come from.
Relationships over time
A piece of content can become a visit, a contact, a conscious purchase, a collaboration, or a new return.
U.S.–ITALY PERSPECTIVE
When roots become tangible access
“In the U.S.–Italy market, the connection to one’s roots becomes stronger when it moves beyond a generic story and provides tangible access to authentic places, people, products, and experiences. Abruzzo has significant potential if it can make its culture of production and place more visible, connecting family memory, small towns, and genuine Made in Italy offerings through recognizable, professionally developed proposals.”

HOW IT WORKS
From memory to relationship, step by step
Anyone arriving here can start from a village, a story, a recipe, a product, or a family question.
Recognize
A name, a village, a photograph, a recipe, or a flavor opens the first contact with family origin.
Rediscover
Stories and places help give shape to a memory that may have remained only within the family.
Encounter
Communities, people, know-how, and local realities make Abruzzo closer, more concrete, and recognizable.
Continue
A memory can lead to journeys, returns, collaborations, new questions, and more stable relationships with the territory.
